It’s going to be a busy day so make sure to start with a delicious, hearty breakfast from the tempting a la carte selection in our own Liberties Gate Restaurant – you can’t go wrong with a classic Full Irish or Eggs Benedict.
Top Tip: Caffeine is an essential ingredient for any successful shopping trip so grab a Grumpy Mule coffee to go and you can sip while you shop!
Go to the Green
Your first stop should be the nearby Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, home to dozens of independent shops and well-known brands such as TK Maxx and Argos. It is a great place to look for accessories and gifts.
Top Tip: Document your trip with the perfect insta-worthy shot - check out #stephensgreenshoppingcentre for inspiration.
Hit the High Street
Right outside Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre you’ll find H&M, Zara and of course, the famous Grafton Street, home to popular high street brands like River Island, Dunnes and Disney. If you’ve got some cash to splurge, there’s also plenty of world-class jewellers as well as Brown Thomas’s flagship store which is worth a visit even if you’re just browsing.
Top Tip: Shopping for something extra special? Visit The Powerscourt Shopping Centre which is located just off Grafton Street in a stunning, Georgian building where you’ll find over 40 high-end boutiques and restaurants.
Temple Bar Treats
Temple Bar is known for being a tourist hotspot but it shouldn’t be overlooked by shoppers. From art galleries and gift shops to quirky independent retailers and cult favourites like the vintage reseller Siopaella, its cobbled streets are full of hidden gems.
Top Tip: If the energy levels are starting to dip, stop for lunch in Elephant & Castle who are known for their utterly delectable chicken wings and gourmet burgers.
Next Stop, Northside
Head north over the Liffey, towards The Spire and you’ll find yourself at the top of Henry Street. This is the main shopping street in the north city centre and is home to the Dublin institution that is Arnott’s Department Store, the modern Jervis Street Shopping Centre and dozens more local and international brands.
Top Tip: It may look small from the outside, but the Jervis Centre is home to dozens of shops selling everything from fashion and beauty to groceries and technology. It boasts the largest JD Sports in Europe and the biggest New Look Store in Europe!
Thanks Hun, Penneys
You can’t plan a day of shopping in Dublin and not mention the iconic Penneys. At the bottom of Henry Street lies their huge, flagship store. It is so big that some may argue Penneys should be the first stop of the day to ensure you have enough energy to see everything!
Top Tip: You can’t leave Penneys without new pyjamas. We don’t make the rules!
Now that you have shopped ‘til you are ready to drop, head back to Hyatt Centric where you’ll obviously have to do a try on of all your new clothes! After that, all that is left to do is enjoy a great night’s sleep in your cosy, contemporary room.
At Hyatt Centric The Liberties Dublin, our Safe Stay Code has been received very positively by our guests since we re-opened.
