Hyatt Centric Hotel Ramps Up Recruitment for 180 New Jobs
Ireland’s first Hyatt Hotel prepares to open its doors in The Liberties, Dublin with an open recruitment day attended by over 500 applicants.
Preparation for the opening of the new 234-room Hyatt Centric Hotel in The Liberties, Dublin is now well underway. Hodson Bay Group, the organisation behind the Hyatt development, stepped up the process of recruiting the 180 new employees needed to run the hotel by hosting an open recruitment day this week in the heart of the Liberties. The open day attracted over 500 local and international applicants with a broad range of experience and skills.
Explaining who the Hodson Bay Group were hoping to meet at the recruitment fair, Johnny O’Sullivan, Director of Hodson Bay Group, said, “In designing the hotel, we have strived to creatively and respectfully incorporate the richness of its location. Hyatt Centric Hotel will set itself apart from other Dublin hotels by facilitating a fascinating, localised customer journey. We can offer a truly magical and memorable experience and to deliver on this, we need to build a team of “Hyatt savvy explorers” who have a passion and commitment for exceptional standards of hospitality.”

With vacancies at every experience level and in all departments, the launch of this four-star city centre hotel offers the opportunity to work for the internationally recognised Hyatt brand in Ireland for the first time. One factor which undoubtedly attracted many of the applicants was Hyatt’s place on this year’s coveted list of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For”. New recruits can look forward to numerous benefits designed to promote a healthy work-life balance combined with Hodson Bay Groups culture of respect for employees, customers and local community.
With Hyatt Centric being part of the O’Sullivan Irish family owned Hodson Bay Group, employees will also have access to the Group’s management development programme which will be launched during the year. The programme has been designed to support the growth and development of employees at every stage of their career.
Speaking after the recruitment day Declan Curtis, General Manager of Hyatt Centric The Liberties, said, “We were overwhelmed and delighted with the response we received to the recruitment open day. The energy and passion of the people we were lucky enough to meet was electric. At the end of the day despite sore feet and lost voices there was a huge sense of achievement and excitement because we have now met many of the people we are going to work with in the first chapter of Hyatt Centric in Ireland.”
